Photo of the Month 2018/11

My first attempt of using the light of the full moon to brightly illuminate a landscape. This is a meadow near the Nidda river in Frankfurt.

Lately I read an interesting article about this topic. Using the last warm evening of this year I went out to give it a try on my own. Luckily, there was absolutely no air movement and almost full moon. After playing around with the exposure I finally found the settings that gave usable images. Despite the exposure times where much longer than five minutes, mostly around ten minutes, the images were very dark in the first place and in raw processing the lightness needed to be increased to a good degree. This on the other hand increased the visual noise a lot. Also there were really a lot of hot pixels.
